Grainne Donnelly - Head Choreographer - Singing Teacher

Company Director

Grainne, has been involved in performing arts for 26 years now, as soon as she was allowed, she was on stage! She had the pleasure of learning her initial skills from the amazing late Gladys Sheehan. Grainne was lucky while with Gladys to experience cameo rolls on tv programmes, short films and the any 'Extra's' work that came her way. "Gladys was the most amazing teacher to date that I've met, treated each child as if they were the only one in the group, and if she saw something in a child, she would bring it out in them every chance she got. I remember vividly my first 'gig' as a choreographer, ha ha, was in Gladys's back yard when I was 13, she knew I loved to dance and decided it was time I started showcasing it!" Grainne also has a love of singing and acting and still actively performs when she can. Her earliest boast was being asked to take part in 'Voices Of The World', but the week she was due to start performing, she got called to have her tonsils out! :-( Grainne's favorite roles over the years to date would be: Anna-The King & I. Robin Hood - Robin Hood The Panto, Snow White- Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs, Mrs Claus for the month of December in a Winter Wonderland and most recently, Simple Simon - Little Red Riding Hood Panto (which by chance was directed by one of our fantastic team members, Chris Currid!)Grainne is a firm believer that you can never know everything there is to know in your field and will continue to take courses when and where she can and will also encourage her teachers to do the same. She is also the proud owner of her other successful company, 'Cupcakes By G' which was recently recognised by Image Magazine. " I feel the fact that I already run a very successful business will stand to me running Razzle Dazzle. I adore my cake company, getting to act like a child every day and play with my adult play dough as I call it. But Cupcakes By G has thought me the in's and out's of the business side of things, so going into our new venture, I can focus solely on the kids and the teachers as luckily I'm a bit more tuned in now! :-)"Also a mother of 4, Grainne just adores children and says "There is no feeling like it, teaching your stageschool kids for the year and then getting to see them perform on shownight. Like having a child who barely spoke at the start of the year take on a solo by the end of it, you really do feel like a proud Mammy to each & every one of them!"" I am delighted Chris joined the company with me, we work really well together and bring different strengths to the classes.
